Poll Robot Vacuum - Do you use one? Which One (25 votes)
I have had a two robot cleaners in the past 8 years. From 2014 to 2018 I had a Mint robot that just mopped my hardwood floors. As I had just wood floors, itt basiclly mopped and acted as a my vaccum. In 2018, I bought a Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum (Roborock) and I have used it ever since. This was the first Xiaomi Mi sold in the US, thus the software was flakey and teh app is in Chinese. It works but the app for it stopped working after a year, so I cannot change the robots programming. It cleans Mon -Sat at 8:15 AM 52 weeks a year, and I cannot chnage that. I find that very ammusing...I have a drak sense of humor.
Persoanlly, I still love having a robot vaccum even with a mind of ist own. I have the proper types of floor for them to clean well, so the automatic daily nature is great. I have a cat so the fact is cleans up hair, dander, and small bit of kitty litter every day is nice. The only thing I do not like is it terrible with cat vomit, it drives right through ist. Thankfully, it clan ist in one pass usially, so it pick-it-up fast and doesn not spread it around; Howver, I have to clean the robot liek ist was a messy toddler.
Because my Xiaomi Mi is now a bit old, I think I will upgrade in another year. I have a bigger apartment so the ability to clean each room on a different scheule would be better. Nevertheless, the Xiaomi Mi still has enough battery life to go through all four rooms in one go, it just that the full circut take over an hour for it now. That is the nice thing about Roborock/Xiaomi eve their less expensive units ($280-$350) with Lidar naviagtion do a FANTSIC job cleaning. My old mchine for 2018 is still going string depsite worksing every day for four years, and when I bought it it was a refurbished unit.
