Game cartridges that are shaped differently from other ones for the same console. While they are more commonly associated with unlicensed games, there have been occasions where these were seen with official releases: mainly ones that incorporate special hardware.
Mostly dedicated to portable platforms like the Game Boy, the platform's hardware did not include built-in rumble feature. Game developers included the hardware needed for the vibration directly on the game's cartridge, often times requiring a dedicated battery as well.
A co-processor chip used in some SNES cartridges. This chip made polygonal games like Star Fox possible on the SNES.
