The value that determines how many events can take place in a character's turn in pure turn based combat as well as in the modern Fallout franchise.
Audio logs are short voice recordings that a player comes across within a game that helps inform the player of the game's story and characters.

The minimap is a small, simplified version of a larger map. This plays a vital role in many games, especially Real Time Strategy, where it is important to have an overview of the entire map.

Radiation is energy in the form of waves or moving subatomic particles emitted by an atom or other body. Radiation in videogames is typically represented as a field, inside of which units will take damage.
A game that depicts the future similar to what the retro era (1920s to 60s approx) would have envisioned or a game that takes place in modern/future times with style or references from the retro era. Also, games with technology or culture that would be considered outdated by the time the game takes place.
Quests that aren't necessary for game completion. They typically offer side-stories or specific rewards.
The SPECIAL System was created by Black Isle Studios, for their 1997 role-playing game: Fallout. It is heavily based on the GURPS System (Generic Universal Role-playing System), which they weren't allowed to use in Fallout.
The Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System (V.A.T.S.) is a modernization of the turn-based combat mechanic seen in previous Fallout games. V.A.T.S. gives the player a strategic advantage, pausing real-time combat in order to target specific body parts.
War is a series of organized conflicts carried on by force of arms between two or more nations or groups. Whether it never changes or has already changed is up for debate.
