IGN Entertainment has acquired the Gamer Network family of digital brands for an undisclosed sum.

As a result of the acquisition, some redundancies have been made across the UK-based organisation.

Gamer Network’s publications are GamesIndustry.biz, Eurogamer (including six local language editions), Rock Paper Shotgun, VG247 and Dicebreaker. The business also holds shares in Outside Xbox, Digital Foundry and Hookshot (which operates Nintendolife, PushSquare, PureXbox and Time Extension).

IGN Entertainment is the division of Ziff Davis that includes IGN, MapGenie, HowLongToBeat, and Humble Bundle. It has acquired the websites from PAX and New York Comic-Con organiser ReedPop, which initially bought the Gamer Network business in 2018.

Not included in the sale are UK-based events EGX or MCM, or the digital brand Popverse, which remain with ReedPop.

The interview, recorded by the website Kikizo at E3 2004, was partially shared at the time but never shown in full.

Now, the full 30-minute discussion, including Iwata’s answers, the English translation by Nintendo’s Yasuhiro Minagawa and optional English subtitles, has been remastered in HD and published in full online.

At a pivotal moment in his career, Iwata, who had only been Nintendo president for two years, had just taken the stage at E3 to unveil the Nintendo DS and tease the Revolution (later renamed the Wii).

Thankfully they saved it and got it running along with prototype and development software plus design documents. DICE has confirmed that Battlefield 2042's Update 5.2 will roll out next week.

The update will include a "map rework" of Hourglass – expect an improved line of sight, traversal, and "combat encounters" now the size has been reduced – as well as all-out warfare attachments for vault weapons SMGs and LMGs, better squad management through improved squad orders, better ammo crates, and dispersion tweaks to SMGs and LMGs.
