In a post Life is Strange world, nothing about this game measures up. 0

Oxenfree is a fine game but in a post Life is Strange world, nothing about this game measures up.The visual design is well done but very plain, even the supernatural elements to this game just came off as boring. The controls are very basic, there is no action here, just walking around the world, I did like how the conversion choice controls worked, basic but work very well.I didn't attach to any of the characters in this game, there isn't enough of an introduction and splitting that short time ...

When spooky turns to silly 0

This game has a great eerie atmosphere and has a very imaginative/depressing world that may be one of the most original settings I've experienced in a long time; but a lot about this game's world doesn't really make sense and while it made me think, it also took me out of the game.Controls are spot on, and great checkpointing which I really appreciated, I wouldn't call it a hard game but I did manage to die a lot.The puzzles were on the easy side but there was a tonne of variety in the problems ...

A great journey under the sea 0

This game looks great, controls great, overall I had a great feeling of discovery while playing Abzu. While very short and it still managed to feel repetitive after a very short time and I was getting pretty worried 30 minutes in, almost exactly at the point I was thinking "holy crap is this all there is to this game" they started changing the tone and direction of the story and it gets pretty interesting towards the end....

I've never laughed so uncomfortably before 0

This game has a huge amount of bite and it doesn't hide away from anything, more like slams you over the head with some pretty severe observations about life. This game had me laughing like a loony at some of the situations that were presented. Thankfully not everything, but some of the stuff in this game hit home in a really uncomfortable way and I think it's broad enough that many people would be able to see a bit of themselves reflected in one of the characters in this game. It's good, It's sho...

Feels like I waited too long to play this one 0

I started this game the day after I finished the first Witcher game and I immediately didn't like it, everything they changed felt wrong and this game was frustratingly hard right off the bat; mostly because of how different the two games are. I never felt the need to gear up or grind levels in the first game, while these things are almost required here, especially at the start of the game where you are incredibly weak. as the game goes on and you get more powerful, things seem to get too easy w...

Great world and characters 0

I bought this game in 2008, I started this game four times over the years and had a real hard time getting into it.There are some fairly large difficulty spikes in this game if you are playing the game how it wants to be played. once I stopped worrying about conserving resources and started using all my abilities, this game really opens up.I liked the characters and the world in this game, but I didn't think the actual story was very good. The main story line quests are pretty good, but the side ...

Where is the wow? 0

I liked it, but it didn't have the same awe inspiring moments that made 2 and 3 great.Probably the best story and setting of any of the uncharted games, I really liked the pyrate lore and the where they went with it, even if it was a bit unbelievable. The gun fighting was better in this game than it ever has been, I still don't like it, but it's mostly tolerable here. The rope swinging while stolen from Tombraider, really made the climbing "puzzles" a lot more interesting, a very good addition to ...

Average game, bad story 0

This game tried some new things and I appreciate that, but none of it made it a better game. The story was a real time travel mess that made zero sense; the characters and their motivations made no sense.Brutal product placement throughout the game, I can understand the Microsoft phones and tablets, but everyone in this universe drives a Nissan...I thought the combat was pretty good, but the last boss fight is probably the worst closing to a game I've played in a long time.I laughed my ass off at...

The ultimate action movie fantasy 0

The ultimate action movie fantasy, I expected more games to go this way with the more powerful consoles but that hasn't seemed to happen. Great story and some great action and unsurpassed spectacle.I hate the gun fight sections of this game. I don't think I'll ever get used to aiming with a controller.I bought my PS3 specifically to play Uncharted 2, but I didn't finish it until the day before this one came out, specifically because I was hyped to play this game, now 5 years later I'm only getti...

Blizzard phoning another one in 0

While this expansion has changed and improved the original release of Diablo 3, It doesn't feel like there is much new content here.I played Diablo 3 when it first came out I put 30 hours into the game and it felt like there was a lot to do, many interesting choices to make; in preparation for this expansion I started a new character and played through the original game again in a third of the time, nothing seemed to matter, there is no strategy just pound on enemies until they are dead then go ...

Walkietalkie simulator 2016 0

I went into this game not really knowing what to expect and not expecting much more than something a little different.Good surprises included a fairly decent story in a fairly interesting world; the conversational dialog was in my experience the most unique and interesting part of this game. Everything felt like a fairly real conversation surrounding a series of bizarre circumstances. The bad; the controls were a little awkward, using shift key for the main action button was maybe not a good choi...

This game lives up to the hype 0

The Witness is a rare breed; a game that makes you feel like an imbecile one moment then a genius the next, and for that reason I loved it.The thought and creativity in this game are unrivaled.I kind of hated the ending, not because of what it was, but for what it did to me, made me start thinking like a crazy person......

A unique experience that I didn't like playing 0

I loved the creativity and the story of this game, but that was about it.I had intended to go pacifist and I did only kill one monster in my entire playthrough, unfortunately that was the first encounter, probably the worst monster to kill; before I became familiar with the game mechanics.I really hated the playing part of this game, massive difficulty spikes combined with not knowing what you were doing in boss fights was a real drag.Keyboard controls were annoying for this game, I used to use ...

More StarCraft 2 for those that love it. 0

I liked this game, but it was probably my least favourite of the 3 campaigns; I'm just not that invested in the Protoss characters and saving their campaign to be the big climax to the SC2 story was a bad move as far as I'm concerned. It also felt like there was a lot less mission variety in the main campaign, it was almost all base building, I prefer the hero missions that were more prevalent in the other two campaigns.I haven't gone too deep into the other modes, but I've had some fun with the ...

It's sort of casual in a good way 0

I didn't finish too many games this year, and this game is mostly to blame. I think I'm at about 400 matches played and I'm still playing 1-3 matches daily. This game is at it's most basic just another MOBA/DOTA clone it plays very similarly to LoL and DOTA 2 with 2 key exceptions:-The team levels up not the individual.-The game takes place on many varied maps.I love the different maps and different objectives it makes the game a lot more strategic compared to it's competition. The team leveling I...

Great original story 0

How strange that I thought the story was great, yet I hated pretty much every character in it; I'm just so disconnected from the teen life and it's shocking how hard that hit me playing this.If you've played a recent Telltale game, you know what to expect mechanically from this game. The choices seems a lot more impactful in this game though, some of the choices I made had major impact on the ongoing game going forward, it really felt crazy some of the things that happened and how much they impa...

The short levels really dragged me into this game. 0

I really liked the first lego game I played (Marvel) but even after only one game I knew I had my fill of the series.I would have never given this game a shot if it hadn't came with the playstation tv; and even then I took a year for me to even try it.Once I started, I couldn't stop, the short 5 minute levels just kept on begging me to play one more, and I did, over and over again, finishing the game I one short followed by one long sitting.I wouldn't say this is a good game but somehow I enjoye...

More Batman! 0

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. It's more Batman, more open world collectables, more everything that was in the previous game.I thought the story was a bit better here than City.Boss fights were annoying, very annoying, but I guess more rewarding when beaten. Some great Joker moments in this game.Still think Asylum is the best of this series, but I'd give Origins a close second and regard it better than City purely based on story as they are all pretty much the same game mechani...

Disjointed, mostly good 0

It's more Batman. This one probably plays the best, the combat is very good and the Batmobile was a good addition to the series. The story was ok; extremely disjointed, the Joker parts were fantastic, the Scarecrow/Arkham Knight stuff was lame. I found the portrayal of Gordon and the entire GCPD was borderline offensive, the game really makes everyone but Batman out to be pathetically weak.I think Asylum and Origins had better stories, but this game has the very best Joker that has ever been in th...

It's free to play, but in a good way, too bad the game isn't that great. 0

This game gives off a very good first impression; the presentation is very good and there is some decent value for a few hours of playing this free to play game. There is no need to engage in the free to play aspects of this game, it's mostly boosts that may help a bit in the early stage of the game, but at that point you are getting a lot of free gear and citizens from quest rewards that I never felt compelled to spend any money on this game. This game really falls apart after the first few hour...

A great single player MMO 0

I bought Star Wars: The Old Republic back when it came out and it has been sitting on my shelf staring at me all these years, and with the new movies ramping up I have an overwhelming urge to get into Star Wars stuff so figured now is the time.First off I played the beta for SWTOR for all of about 2 hours and hated it, it was just a goofy space WoW knockoff that didn't offer anything new or interesting. I still think that was true at the time, but my experience with the current game has been muc...

A great adventure for those that enjoyed the first game 0

It's been awhile since I finished the first one but this game felt like more of the same both good and bad. It's funny that this ui would be acceptable not so long ago, maybe it would have been better with a controller, but cycling through all the powers was grating on me towards the end.I did play on pc with both The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod and M4-78, no bugs, maybe still more difficult to get it to run than it should be but not the same kinds of difficult problems I had with KotOR.I li...

Bad game 0

I really disliked this game, yet for some strange reason it's the only Mario game I've ever played to completion. This game was far too long. The combat is not fun, long timing based encounters that are unforgivingly difficult on normal and silly easy on easy mode. The giant boss battles are also needlessly difficult and had no easy mode.I did like the world puzzles/traversal powers. There were a couple of good songs in the game also....

Short but sweet 0

I think this is probably the best looking game I've ever played, the characters, environment and lighting were all amazing. The story was interesting and well acted, though it was absolutely too short, not just the game but the actual story, they could have added more to make it more believable.I really don't like console shooters and this one is no different, it worked well enough and there was enough interesting weapons and variety; I just hate aiming with a controller so that is just me; there...

Thankfully short 0

This game was one of the biggest letdowns I've ever experienced.I normally like oddball/non sequitur humour and feel like I understand what they where going for here but it was completely underwhelming; it's almost like someone watched your favourite TV show, then made a game out of it but had no understanding of why the TV show was so great.I really feel like I missed something huge here, but I don't care enough to figure out what....

Good experience 0

I don't think this is a great game, but it was a good experience.Very short, even with the DLC content you are under 2 hours. The level design is awe inspiring, the levels are very cleaver/creative without being difficult. It makes you feel smart in the same way Portal did without being difficult. This is probably the best thing I've ever played on my tablet but the length and lack of difficulty really detract from an otherwise fantastic experience. The DLC is very much worth picking up, it doubles...

A fine waste of time 0

I started playing this after it was mentioned on the bombcast a few weeks ago comparing it to Injustice. It is very similar but I think I like Injustice better. This game felt more like a rhythm game than a fighter to me, if you are hitting your beat, you can best much more powerful characters, but if you are just jamming without thinking you will do badly once you get past the first act.The graphics are great, I like the cartoonish style they went with.I had no bugs while playing and it performed...

A great daily distraction 0

I'm really surprised how much I'm enjoying this, I started playing a few months ago and I've been playing daily ever since. It's a simple combat system that works extremely well for touch based controls. The thing that has hooked me into this game, is the progression/leveling/collectables, in most free to play games, you tend to hit a wall where progression just stops, I've been playing this game long enough that I should have hit that point by now if it was coming.I think this game gets the free ...

A decent story, and that's about it. 0

This game is very comparable to the recent Telltale efforts, a decent story without much game play backing it up.I think the main reason this game went overlooked this year was the price, people are used to paying less for a short story based game now.I enjoyed my time with this game, the story was interesting enough to justify a playthrough. This is a little odd, but no music or sound at all during the end credits, I would have never guessed how weird that would be....

The most average game I've ever played 0

Nothing really good, nothing really bad, this game is just a huge scoop of meh. This game is a lesser version of Assassin's Creed, there is a story, but it's not great, the driving and shooting/combat are not up to current standards. Some extremely frustrating parts in this game. The side quests are better than anything that has ever been in AC though, I really liked diving into the history of Chicago told through the landmarks. The music was ok, it's a shame most of it is hidden in unlockables thr...

Good first impression but it doesn't last 0

I'm not a wrestling fan and I really only started playing based on the bombcast discussions. This game started off very good, I was leveling up, getting new cards, seeing new cards, winning, it felt really good for awhile.Once you start getting into the higher tiers: ultra rare/epic, the progression in the game just completely stopped, I believe this is the point in the game where they want you to start spending some money and it's never been more obvious to me in any other game.So I'm done, if t...

A great demo 0

The first thing to know about this game is that it's really short, that said, there isn't much else that I had a problem with. The AI was interesting, at points it seemed really smart, following me to hiding spots and flushing me out. There were also spots where I assume the AI couldn't reach so I would just be completely ignored while sniping NPCs all over the map.The story was pretty good, maybe a bit confusing, felt like it was pulled out of the middle of another game. This is the first Metal G...

Great story mode 0

I bought this a year ago and only just started playing it a few days ago; it's a bit embarrassing because I only started playing it to get unlocks for the mobile version (which has strangely captured my attention).I was blown away by the story mode; I remember hearing all about how great the MK9 story mode was and just wrote it off as "good for a fighting game" but not really "good"; if it was anything like this, I was so wrong; I really liked the story in this.I think the graphics already look ...

The most faithful licensed game I've ever played 0

If you liked/like South Park this is worth playing, it really is just like playing an episode of the tv show. The comedy/South Park flavor is good, a lot of it taken straight from the show. The RPG parts are a bit light for my tastes, very easy, and stats/leveling up/equipment didn't seem to matter very much.Combat was very uneven, it felt hard at the start, but once you get the hang of it, it's very easy, not very strategic. This game has a lot more in common with Costume Quest than Dragon AgeI en...

A decent addition to the franchise. 0

I liked it.Not as good as season one, but it had some great moments and Telltale is getting better at the game part.No bugs was nice.Maybe it's been too long since I played 400 days, but it didn't seem like the characters from that played much of a part in this game, certainly less than I was expecting. I honestly didn't care much about most of the characters in this season, I think that is it's main flaw, when people start dying, it didn't have the same impact as similar situations had in the f...

A unique experience 0

I love this game because it gets me out of the house a lot.I hate this game for one of the reasons I don't play MMOs anymore, there is no winning this game, and the player who spends the most time with it will have a significant advantage, it really makes the game completely pointless. This game gave the illusion of an interesting strategy game, but the way offense/defense works; mostly brute force and alot of time farming; results in a game that shares a lot more in common with free to play/mobi...

MIndless fun 0

I just finished the story mode, this is the most face rolling game I've ever played. I really want to like this game, and I sort of do, but everything about the actual gameplay is just a substandard Diablo with a lot of free to play hooks. The characters are very well done and look great, but when you get a bunch of them together in a boss fight, it's just chaos with all the powers flying around, apparently things get harder in the 10 man raiding content, that is the sort of stuff I'm normally in...

Long boring/silly shooter 0

I enjoyed the characters (they weren't nearly as annoying/overbearing/prevalent as I had expected based on the buzz around this game).Combat was boring/monotonous, typical shooter, but it's worse here because the game is so long.Story was insignificant at best.I liked the look of the game, good style, some screen tearing though. The loot in this game really sucked, much the same way Diablo 3 was, good stuff never dropped, inventory always full of crap, the only good weapons came from golden keys,...

Stumbled in the end. 0

I enjoyed the story up to the end, I think the ending was weak.episode 1 awesomeepisode 2-4 goodepisode 5 mostly lame with two great boss sequences. The game play was better than previous telltale games, there was a boss fight that was good and many good battle sequences throughout the episodes.I did have a bug that came up more than once where the dialog choices wouldn't load up while the game would just keep going, so I had to reload from a save 4 times, I didn't lose any progress but it was an...

Who put their casual game in my PS4? 0

I played the PS4 version, it crashes a lot, roughly 6-7 times in the 4ish hours it took to finish. The personality tests were interesting but not particularly accurate.Lots of characters to interact with, but after you finish a few "missions" they are all the same, this game is the missing link between video games and web/mobile games.I would have preferred more quizzes and less adventure worlds. It's a shame they didn't use the ds4 touchpad for anything in this game, seems like it would have been...
